Shim-al-gyack in Motion
This seven-lesson plan, complete with “Brain Teasers,” was developed by Dum Baal-dum®, using the Total Physical Response (TPR) system. It was created for use in the classroom, but where two or more people of any age gather, TPR will work. Shim-al-gyack in Motion was designed to minimize stress felt by people who are trying to speak the language but who are unfamiliar with the sounds. People interested in teaching with this method will find that TPR is very easy to learn and facilitate. It does require the teacher to become familiar with the unique sounds and enunciation of Shim-al-gyack. For this, Dum Baal-dum® recommends using the Tsimshian Language CD or the CD designed to go with these lesson plans.
