The Tlingit alphabet contains twenty-four more characters than the English alphabet and includes four sounds not found in any other language in the world. These original art cards are designed to provide a fun way for young people to become familiar with the Tlingit language alphabet. The cards can be used as flash cards or in regular card games such as Go Fish or Rummy. This project was sponsored by Sealaska Heritage Institute as part of its mission to perpetuate Native languages. Funding for the preparation and distribution was provided by the Alaska Humanities Forum.
