



Sealaska Kusteeyí
Program
SHI
sponsors annual, intensive two-week language workshops in partnership
with Southeast Native communities. The goal of the workshops, called the Sealaska Kusteeyí Program,
is to support and strengthen Native language and culture revitalization.
The program allows Native language instructors and mature students to
gather and focus on Native language acquisition and learning learn the
most effective teaching methods.
Started in 1999 in Juneau, the Sealaska Kusteeyí Program
continues to expand to additional towns and villages with the goal of
supporting and strengthening Alaska Native languages as living treasures. For more information
