Museum of the American Indian Opening
Sealaska Heritage and Sealaska Corporation gave logistical support
to a delegation of Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian who traveled to
Washington, D.C., for the opening of the National Museum of the
American Indian in September 2004. "The Tlingit, Haida, and
Tsimshian were absolutely regal in their appearance and being," said
SHI President Rosita Worl, a founding and current member of the NMAI
who helped guide the massive construction project. "We made a
definite national and international statement about our survival and
vitality as a People." (News
