Haida Language Program

Sealaska Heritage Institute in 2005 sponsored Haida language workshops in Hydaburg. The institute's linguists use a technique called Total Physical Response to teach the language. The method incorporates physical activites, such as the game Twister seen in these images, to help students retain information. The program is funded in part through a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Education.   Click any photo to enlarge. Use your browser's back button to return.
